Mesothelioma is specific type of cancer that is caused by the exposure to asbestos. Asbestos is a mineral with thin long crystals l used in manufacturing of many products like cement, flooring, roof material, insulation substances and fabric. Mesothelioma is usually produced by the small particles released during the production process. The common preys of this disease are those working in factories where the asbestos is used as manufacturing element and those living around these factories.

There are different types of mesothelioma such as pleural mesothelioma, peritoneal mesothelioma, pericardial mesothelioma, testicular mesothelioma. A research has indicated that above 85 percent of mesothelioma patient were those indirectly being exposed to asbestos whereas only 15 percent people had the history of being exposed to asbestos heavily. That shows indirect exposure to asbestos also causes the mesothelioma in people.

Prevention of this disease includes many precautions. The disease can be avoided by getting off the exposure of asbestos. Factories and manufacturing industries where different kinds of chemicals are used in production should set up away from cities. It is ethical and social responsibility of factory owners to make the regular mesothelioma check up available for the factory workers.

It is hard to diagnose this disease at early stage but if there is any symptom of  mesothelioma then different kind of medical measures can be used to confirm the mesothelioma such as chest X ray, CT scan, MRI scan , PET scan. People who are used to the exposure of asbestos are recommended to go through the regular check up because the early diagnose of disease can make the cure possible.
